Publishing Articles &  Notices

The GREAT GISBORNE GAZETTE welcomes articles and notices from community, not-for-profit clubs and organisations. The Gazette may also accept, at the editor’s discretion, articles and notices from individuals and businesses. The Gazette does not publish ‘Letters to the Editor’.

The Gazette is published monthly (except in January) and, if you have email, I will send you a reminder each month one week before the deadline.

The best way of getting your notices, reports and articles to me is to send them by email to editor@gisbornegazette.org.au  If your report is an attachment to your email, please send it in a Word document. Attach good, clear photos separately as jpeg files no larger than one megabyte.

If you haven’t access to email you can enclose your notices, reports, articles (preferably typed) and photos in an envelope addressed to the Gisborne Gazette and hand it in at the Gisborne Library by the deadline date.

The GREAT GISBORNE GAZETTE exists to build up our local community by:

  •    Helping residents to keep in touch with what’s going on locally.

  •    Promoting a good image of local clubs and organisations to the wider community.

  •    Giving people – and especially our younger people – the feeling that Gisborne, New Gisborne, Bullengarook, Macedon and Mount Macedon are good places to live in and be a part of.

  •    Making newcomers aware of the clubs and organisations that are available for them and their families to become involved in.

By letting the community know about your activities, plans and successes you will not only be doing a good public relations job for your club or organisation but you will also be contributing to building up a general feeling of pride in our community.

We receive a heavy volume of articles and notices each month which poses a challenge to fit in everyone’s good news.  So please limit your reporting to a maximum of 250 words and thus ensure that there will be sufficient space for everyone to have their say.

Contributions from not-for-profit clubs and organisations will be published free of charge. However, we reserve the right to edit your articles or notices.

If you wish to ensure that a notice (eg, about a forthcoming fundraising event) is laid out in a special way or published on a particular page or not reduced by being edited, you will need to consider taking out an advertisement. To do this you should contact Phyllis Boyd on 0431 063 119 or via advertising@gisbornegazette.org.au

We look forward to your contributions.  To ensure that they don’t miss being published, please adhere to the deadlines as noted
